If you have a legitimate haunting or claim of a haunting, calling us is your first step. TV and being famous should be the far front of your mind.--Regan Vacknitz

EVP

EVP stands for Electronic Voice Phenomena.  This is a voice or sound that appears on a recording device that did not occur during the recording. (Voices that are heard during the recording are referred to as disembodied voices)  These voices can be difficult to hear and discern what is being said.  When examining a potential EVP you need to be aware of a few detail first.  Some microphones can actually pick up radio transmissions that appear to be voices when played back.  To avoid this you need to ask several questions and listen for direct responses to these questions.  To further verify that it is not just coincidence ask the same question several times in different ways and see if you get the same response.  If you can not explain why you get a voice in direct response to the question, more than once, and to multiple questions you have a legitimate EVP.

AVOID HUMAN CONTAMINATION!  Know what the voices of all other people in the room at the time of the recording sound like and disregard anything that could be voices of these people.  If you have access to audio editing software use a filter to eliminate any sounds between 80Hz to 110Hz any voice recorded beyond this range is considered outside the human vocal range.  Doing this can eliminate other potential EVPs, however any voice recorded outside this range can not be made by human vocal chords.

I have always been interested in the paranormal.  I have been touched by unseen hands and I have heard voices.  I have seen to much evidence to deny that there is something out there.  Is it the departed souls of our loved ones?  I doubt well ever truly know, but we are going to try anyway. -- Aaron Burgess, IMPS Founder
