EMF
EMF stands for electromagnetic field. Electromagnetic fields occur in many haunted locations. Electromagnetic fields are created by objects. Anything man-made will give off an electromagnetic field. This includes: TV's, lamps, fans, clocks, radios, phones ect. It is not unusual to have EMF fluctuations. However, it is unusual to find to have EMF fluctuations and not be able to track it to a natural source. Keep in mind all rooms will have a base EMF reading. What we are looking for are fluctuations from this base line. Tracking an electromagnetic field is important to verify its authenticity. EMF's can be detected by an EMF detector (a common electrician's tool) Once you get an EMF hit you need to track it much the same way you track thermal hits. Try to determine where it is coming from. Move up and down and see if it is free-standing.(floating in the middle of the room not emanating from an object) Be aware of electrical wiring and outlets. These doctors were originally designed to find wiring in walls. Check above below and to the sides when you get a hit and try to determine where the EMF is coming from.
HYPERSENSITIVITY
Some people have a negative reaction to exposure to electromagnetic fields. This is called hyper sensitivity. Hypersensitivity can cause some symptoms that can be understood as haunted activity. These symptoms can include
- Headache
- Nausea
- Paranoia
- Hallucination
- Vomiting
- Skin Irritation
FEAR CAGE
In certain circumstances the wiring in a house creates what is called a fear cage. This is where wiring emitting strong EMFs wrap completely around a room. This creates a very high concentration of EM fields inside the room. A fear cage can cause symptoms of hypersensitivity in people who do not have hypersensitivity.
Fear cages often occur in areas around electrical boxes and in areas where wiring is not shielded i.e. attics or lofts
